Hi there! I’m Hiroshi — chef and owner of Shellfish, Shrimp & Crab, a small 6-seat seafood restaurant tucked away in a quiet alley of Shinsaibashi, Osaka.

A Chef’s Journey – From Nagano to the Heart of Osaka
I was born in Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture, and have been working in the food industry since my teenage years.
After moving to Osaka, I trained for over 20 years in Italian kitchens and Spanish-style bars, focusing on dishes that make people smile and bring them together.
In 2013, I opened Shellfish, Shrimp & Crab to share my passion for seafood and heartfelt service with guests from near and far.
Our Signature Dish: Live Lobster with White Wine & Herbs
Our most popular course features live Canadian lobster, prepared tableside in a Staub pot.
We steam the lobster with white wine and herbs —
releasing a fragrant aroma as the pot opens right in front of you.
Guests love the dramatic presentation, the gentle sweetness of the lobster, and the care we put into every detail — from the cutting to the plating.
It’s not just dinner. It’s an experience.
Not Just Lobster – Shellfish & Crab Done Right
While lobster is our star, our fresh shellfish and crab dishes are also prepared with the same level of care.
We source seasonal oysters from across Japan (Hokkaido, Kyushu, and more),
serve crab shabu-shabu in rich clam broth, and offer a fan-favorite:
creamy crab macaroni gratin, loved since our opening days.
A Family Business – Built with Warmth and Gratitude
In August 2022, I married my wife Mizuki,
who has been helping in the restaurant ever since.
She takes care of drinks, prepares welcome cards and celebration messages,
and brings a welcoming atmosphere that our guests truly appreciate.
Thanks to her, the restaurant has become even more inviting and warm.
For birthdays or anniversaries, we also offer dessert plates with custom messages — a small but heartfelt touch to celebrate special moments.
Private Lunches, Relaxed Dinners
We offer a completely private lunch (by reservation only, at least 3 days in advance), limited to one group per day.
In the evening, we recommend making a reservation —
but we also welcome walk-ins when seats are available!
We offer 3 main course options:
- 🦞 Signature Lobster Course – ¥10,500
- 🦐 Short Course – ¥8,500
- 🦞🦐 Luxury Course with Ise & Lobster – ¥18,500
Our counter setting allows you to relax, enjoy the dishes, and take your time.
Note: While we allow smoking in the evening, our lunch service is non-smoking due to private reservations.
